Kobudo Weaponry Volume 8: Primitive weapons
It is commonly believed that Okinawan farming and fishing tools evolved into lethal weapons of self- defense when the Satsuma samurai clan forbade the peasants from carrying arms.
The weapons demonstrated on this video directly use or are constructed of only rock, stick, and rope. Included in this instruction is a demonstration of the techniques for the Okinawan suruchin.
The original suruchin was a rope (commonly of hemp) of 150 or 230 cm in length with a rock tied to each end. This devastating weapon could be quickly constructed and hidden on your person before use.
